Vehicle Maintenance
At Wheels of Time, our connection to our customers and their car does not end when the restoration is complete. We believe that after your restoration is complete it is extremely important to properly maintain your collectible classic. There are TWO components of proper car care - (1) Routine and Preventive Maintenance and (2) Exterior and Interior Detailing.
Routine & Preventative Maintenance
Vintage cars have special needs, most of which cannot be met by repair shops, dealerships or service centers. At Wheels of Time, we believe that after your restoration is complete it is extremely important to properly maintain your collectible classic. We've seen too many people drive into our shop with little or no oil in the crankcase. Allowing us the experts care for your vintage automobile will:
- Protect your financial investment

Exterior & Interior Detailing
With vintage cars, you must not only maintain all the mechanical parts, but the exterior and interior of the car, as well. If you have only one car, are meticulous about your car's care and have the room, tools and supplies to keep your car shiny "new" and keep that "new car smell", then you probably don't need us to maintain your car. If you have more than one classic car and don't have the time to do the work, then we can expertly detail both the exterior and interior of your car. We offer 2 detailing packages and a complete leather treatment service.
Level 1 Detailing:
Level 1 Detailing is for those in need of a thorough cleaning and polishing. This machine-apply polish cleans the paint, remove very light swirls and defects and will leave a long-lasting protective barrier on your cars painted surfaces. At the very least, this service should be performed annually. Level 1 includes:
Level 2 Detailing:
Level 2 Detailing is for those who want their car to be as close to perfect as possible. If you are bringing your car to a car show or simply want the car to be more than "washed and waxed" this service is for you. If you are a serious collector and want your cars maintained to the highest level, we recommend this service annually.
Level 2 Detailing includes:
Deep Leather Treatment:
Leatherique Leather Treatment and Protection Leatherique is widely accepted as some of the absolute finest leather care and restoration products on the market. Some car companies only allow Leatherique products to treat the fine leather in their vehicle lineup. This two step process involves the deep penetrating Leatherique Rejuvinating Oil applied while the interior leather is heated up. This allows the oil to provide a deep conditioning effect while pushing environmental and industrial contamination out of the leather. This first step takes up to 24 hours. The second step, Leatherique Pristine Clean, removes all contamination from the surface and provides a high level of UV protection. Once completed, your leather will be much more clean and sanitary, it will have a soft and supple feel to it, and it will restore that leather scent. This is a great service for continued protection on your vintage or collectable vehicle, as well as a great service for new vehicles for protection and comfort.
Price: $149 for 2 seat cars; $249 for cars with back seats.
Level 1 Detailing:
Level 1 Detailing is for those in need of a thorough cleaning and polishing. - All-in-one cleaner, polish and wax machine-applied to enhance gloss and shine, while correcting very light swirls and other marks,
- Doors and trunk jambs thoroughly cleaned,
- Wheels cleaned to remove brake dust and road grime,
- Tires cleaned and dressed,
- Interior and trunk will be air purged and vacuumed,
- All interior surfaces wiped down and
- All glass surfaces cleaned to a streak free shine
Level 2 Detailing:
Level 2 Detailing is for those who want their car to be as close to perfect as possible. If you are bringing your car to a car show or simply want the car to be more than "washed and waxed" this service is for you. If you are a serious collector and want your cars maintained to the highest level, we recommend this service annually.
Level 2 Detailing includes:
- Exterior sprayed with foam and hand washed with pH neutral soap,
- High speed, two-stage machine polishing to remove most swirls, bird drop etching, minor water spots and light scratches. Depth, gloss, and clarity will be improved tremendously; the transformation will be stunning! [Please note, some defects may be too severe to safely remove, or would require additional compounding steps],
- Door and trunk jambs are thoroughly cleaned and shined,
- All chrome will lightly cleaned with .004 steel pads, polished and buffed,
- Wheel wells are cleaned and dressed,
- Wheels are gently cleaned to remove brake dust and road grime. Tires are cleaned and dressed,
- Polymer sealant applied to exterior paint surfaces to provide long lasting protection from the elements,
- Interior and trunk will be air purged, vacuumed and lightly shampooed. Deeper stains will be spot-treated,
- All hard interior surfaces will be cleansed with a mild soap, and then treated with water-based (non-greasy) UV protectants,
- Dash, console and gauges will be carefully cleaned and protected with the appropriate products based on materials and textures,
- Leather
surfaces will be lightly cleaned, conditioned and protected, and
- All glass surfaces will be cleaned to a streak free shine.
